How to Spend a Day in Antibes, France

Picking Up Our Bikes in Antibes Old Town

We started our day in Antibes Old Town, where we picked up our e-bikes from a rental shop conveniently located near the Parapharmacie Market. Booking online a few days in advance made things smooth and stress-free. The bikes—both regular and electric—were ready and in excellent condition.

First-Time E-Bike Experience

It was our first time riding electric bikes, and the shop staff were super friendly and helpful. They showed us how to switch on the motor and adjust the level of assistance. It was surprisingly simple! One small thing we missed, though, was asking how to turn on the bike lights. That would’ve helped later in the evening.

Before heading off, we stopped by a nearby street food market for a quick breakfast. I had a delicious apple pastry—warm, flaky, and fresh from the oven. The old town is full of cafés and bakeries, so no matter where you go, you’ll find something worth trying. Even in late November, the weather was mild enough to sit outside.

Starting Our Ride Along the Riviera

We kicked off the ride near Port Vauban, cruising along the coast. While some parts of the road looked steep, the e-bike motor made it feel effortless. The views of the sea and marina were just the beginning of an incredibly scenic ride.

Coastal Roads, Scenic Stops

As we followed the coastline, we passed quiet coves, beautiful homes, and peaceful viewpoints. Do note that dedicated bike lanes aren’t always available, so stay alert and ride cautiously. Luckily, traffic was light since we visited during the off-season.

A Favorite Beach Spot—With a Twist

We reached one of our favorite beach spots along the Riviera—usually the perfect place for a break. Unfortunately, there was some construction underway to prepare for the upcoming tourist season. Still, the view made the stop worthwhile.

Don’t Miss: Cap d’Antibes Coastal Walk

Just before climbing uphill, we passed the tip of Cap d’Antibes, where there’s a stunning walking path along the cliffs. We didn’t have time to explore it this time, but it’s a must if you have a couple of extra hours—an amazing spot that’s only accessible on foot.

Residential Streets & Plage de la Garoupe

We continued through calm residential roads and reached Plage de la Garoupe, another beautiful beach perfect for a summer visit. Although we didn’t stop, it’s definitely worth adding to your list.

Slower Pace, Deeper Views

One thing we really appreciated was how much more we noticed at a slower pace. The western stretch of the coast offers a mix of seaside views, lush gardens, and glimpses of the distant mountains. We found a lovely picnic spot on a stone wall, parked our bikes, and enjoyed the sunshine with an unbeatable view.

Through Juan-les-Pins & Onward

Next up was Juan-les-Pins, a charming town known for its annual jazz festival in July. Some areas were under construction, so we briefly walked our bikes, but the relaxed atmosphere and sea breeze made it a joy to explore.

Sunset Chase and Return Ride

As the sun began to dip, we picked up the pace, trying to catch the sunset. We were just a few minutes too late—but even then, the sky glowing over the sea and mountains made for a picture-perfect end to our journey.

Back to the Bike Shop

We clocked in around 18 kilometers before returning to the rental shop. This time, the staff showed us how to turn on the lights—finally solving the one mystery of the day! We were thankful for how smooth and reliable the bikes were throughout the trip.
